Spatial modeling of individual‐level infectious disease transmission: Tuberculosis data in Manitoba, Canada

چکیده

Geographically dependent individual level models (GD-ILMs) are a class of statistical that can be used to study the spread infectious disease through population in discrete-time which covariates measured both at and area levels. The typical ILMs illustrate spatial data based on distance between susceptible individuals. A key feature GD-ILMs is they take into account location individuals addition As motivation this article, we consider tuberculosis (TB) an transmitted It also known certain areas/demographics/communities have higher prevalent TB (see Section 4 for more details). interest policy makers identify those areas with infectivity rate possible preventions. Therefore, need analyze properly address concerns. In expectation conditional maximization algorithm proposed estimating parameters able predict highest average rates TB. We evaluate performance our approach some simulations. Our simulation results indicate method provides reliable estimates confirms accuracy rates.

Bowel disorders and its spatial trend in Manitoba, Canada

BACKGROUND Bowel disorders have destructive impacts on the patients social and mental aspects of life and can cause emotional distress. The risk of developing bowel incontinence also increases with age. The rate of incidence of inflammatory bowel disease in Manitoba, Canada, has been unusually raised. Therefore, it is important to identify trends in the incidence of bowel disorders that may sug...

Spatial Modeling of Censored Survival Data

An important issue in survival data analysis is the identification of risk factors. Some of these factors are identifiable and explainable by presence of some covariates in the Cox proportional hazard model, while the others are unidentifiable or even immeasurable. Spatial correlation of censored survival data is one of these sources that are rarely considered in the literatures. In this paper,...

Mapping populations at risk: improving spatial demographic data for infectious disease modeling and metric derivation

The use of Global Positioning Systems (GPS) and Geographical Information Systems (GIS) in disease surveys and reporting is becoming increasingly routine, enabling a better understanding of spatial epidemiology and the improvement of surveillance and control strategies. In turn, the greater availability of spatially referenced epidemiological data is driving the rapid expansion of disease mappin...
